Launchpad Controller

ONE Control comes with Launchpad controller for Ableton Live and Logic Pro version 10.5 or later. It emulates the Novation Launchpad series, specifically the Launchpad X.

With the Launchpad controller you can play clips/loops, control the mixer, play notes, and display scrolling text.

Before using the Launchpad controller, you need to connect to you host. Please follow the instructions here.

Play clips and loops

Press the Session/Mixer button to enter Session mode. “Session” must be in the center of the button, and “Mixer” in the lower part of the button. Each pad with with a clip/loop associated is coloured with the same tint of the corresponding clip/loop.

In Ableton Live, each row represents a scene, while in Logic Pro, the sessions are displayed vertically. To play a clip, press the corresponding pad. To play an entire scene, press the button on the right of the pads (Ableton Live) or at the bottom of the controller (Logic Pro).

The clips that are playing are highlighted in bright green.

Control mixer parameters

Press the Session/Mixer button to enter Mixer mode. “Mixer” must be in the center of the button, and “Session” in the lower part of the button. 

In Mixer mode, each pad represents a level of the selected Mixer parameter. To select a parameter, press one of the buttons on the right of the pads (Live) or at the bottom (Logic). The available parameters are:

• Volume
  Each column (Live) or row (Logic) represents the level of the corresponding channel. Press a pad to lower or rise the volume.

• Pan
  Each column (Live) or row (Logic) represents the pan level of the corresponding channel. Press a pad on the left/right (Live) or top/bottom (Logic) to pan.

• Send A/B
  Each column (Live) or row (Logic) represents the send level of the corresponding channel. Press a pad to lower or rise the level.

• Solo
  The bottom row (Live) or the leading column (Logic) represents the Solo status of each channel. Press the corresponding pad to solo and un-solo the track.

• Mute
  The bottom row (Live) or the leading column (Logic) represents the Mute status of each channel. Press the corresponding pad to mute and un-mute the track.

• Record Arm
  The bottom row (Live) or the leading column (Logic) represents the Record Arm status of each channel. Press the corresponding pad to enable and disable the record arm for the track.

Play notes

The pad grid represents 4-octave layout, with the leading pad being the C of each octave, and the trailing pad being the C of the next octave.

Note: Since the iPad screen is not pressure sensitive, each note is sent with a fixed velocity, default to 100. You can change this value by customising the controller.

Billboard mode

In this mode, the Launchpad controller act as a scrolling text billboard. You can create as many messages/lines as you want, customize the speed and the color of each line.

To access Billboard mode, press the A button on the toolbar (bottom right of the controller). Add a new line then press play to start the presentation.

Billboard messages are automatically saved on your controller when playing, and the controller background fades to black. Tap on any pad to stop the presentation.

Please note that, in order to run the billboard, you don’t need to be connected to any DAW.
